Food Drive at White Horse Black Mountain

Things have been busy around here...but let me tell you about something I am really excited about:
Box & Beer Food Drive/Concert...it is going to be a fun night of music, a free beer if so inclined, but most importantly about giving to those in need right here in our community. I really hope to see you there!
When: 6p.m. Thursday
Where: White Horse Black Mountain, 105 Montreat Drive, Black Mountain.
Please bring a box of nonperishable food to donate to families in need, and each person age 21 or older will receive a free beer. The event is family-friendly and features music from the Hack Birds, with Julie Harrison. All food donations are going to Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministries.
So far in 2010, Swannanoa Christian Ministries has provided food to an average of 253 households, or 760 people a month, said its director, Renae Brame. “During the year, there have been many times that the pantry has been practically depleted of food because of the high demand (and) need. Each food drive that takes place helps to stock the pantry so we can serve those who are hurting in this tough economy.”
Admission is free. Families are welcomed.
