Small Town

There is something we all love and appreciate about a small town. Now not every "small" town lives up to its name and the emotional connection that it provokes...but here, in Black Mountain, NC, we are fortunate. This truly is a small town in size, in population, and most notably in essence. I especially love holidays in a small town, where we come together to celebrate something we share, to mingle, and re-establish why we are a part of this community. I don't know if the identity of true community is being resurrected, or if I am just more aware and thankful for it as I have put down my roots and started raising a family. However, I do tend to think...actually I know...we need each other, differences and similarities alike. So, neighbors, friends, those I know by face and not name (which are many!), those who call Black Mountain home, and those who wish they did, the year-rounders, and the weekenders...you all make this community what it is and that is the reason we all love it so much!
Here are just a few places to go and be apart of your community this weekend...whether you are just a traveler passing through or a Black Mountainee, you are welcome!
Village of Cheshire.
Egg Hunt-
On Saturday, April 3, we will be hosting the 5th annual Cheshire
Easter egg hunt in the green space across from the restaurants, near the front of the neighborhood. Any and all are welcome-just bring 12 stuffed plastic eggs to the McLellan home (23 Chaucer Road) by Friday April 2, for each child participating in the hunt. We will have the hunt on Saturday April 3 at 4:30 PM. Bring a covered dish, beverage of choice and a picnic blanket so we can share a meal together afterward. Please bring plates, cups, utensils, etc.
Sunrise Service-
On Sunday April 4th, we will be hosting our 4th annual Easter Son-rise service on the Cheshire amphitheater. Service will be led by our own Bill Henderson and will begin at 7:05AM.
Bring your friends and neighbors and we look forward to seeing you all there!
